Have A Heart is a Children’s Charity Foundation that is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization here in Kansas City, MO. Adopted in 1989, by Joe and Sherrill Burnell of Kansas City.  Our organinzation became incorporated by the year 2000. Organized by Sherrill, and operated by Active and Retired Kansas City, MO Firefighters, IAFF Local No. 42, their families, and our many generous volunteers.

The Jackson Co. DFS assigns 350+ children to our Foundation annually. Foster children and young adults, ranging in ages from infants to 22yrs. residing in group homes in the metro area. Our Santas go to all of the participating fire stations, to hand out the "Wish Lists" to be filled. We provide clothes, shoes and winter coats. Bicycles, roller blades, cars and boats. Boardgames, books, scooters and balls. Tea sets, jewelry, purses and dolls. All checked and bagged, wrapped and tagged, ready to be placed under their Christmas trees!

HAVE A HEART, INC is considered to be a small operation. Mostly funded by donations from individuals, privately owned companies, large corporations, and annual fundraising. Our workshop space, materials, and maintenance are also donated.
